Less is more


Multimodal chromatography media provide opportunities to reduce the number of steps in a purification process, but the complexity of their binding interactions presents a challenge for process development. Using DoE (Design of Experiment) to find the optimum conditions and to characterize how variables like sample load, pH and conductivity influence purification targets is a smart approach to reduce the work load whilst giving enough understanding to grasp opportunities. An illustrative example is the use of Capto™ adhere, a multimodal anion exchanger, for MAb polishing in flow-through mode. For details see the application note: 29-0192-56 (PDF file).
