Establishing an appropriate model allows for higher throughput during simultaneous operation and monitoring of several cultures at different process conditions. In this article, we discuss the development of a bench-scale (1.5 L working volume) proof of concept model for a 50 L Xcellerex™ XDR-50 bioreactor and Xcellerex™ APS perfusion system with comparable growth, volumetric productivity, and product quality.
